Data Engineer

Summary

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our Business Intelligence team. The Data Engineer will be responsible for architecting, building, testing, and maintaining databases and large-scale processing systems. The ideal candidate is comfortable taking ownership of the technical roadmap, highly collaborative, and a critical thinker. The person will get a chance to tackle a broad range of use cases and work with people from many areas of the company.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design and implement data pipelines for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).
  • Construct, test, and maintain scalable architectures for data storage and processing.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to understand data needs and deliver solutions.
  • Write code using SQL and Python to meet the data needs of the business.
  • Optimize and troubleshoot data systems for performance and reliability.
  • Implement continuous improvement processes to protect, govern, automate, and scale data platform.
  • Implement data security and privacy best practices.
  • Stay current with advancements in data engineering and incorporate best practices into processes.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role for 4+ years.
  • Strong knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java or Scala.
  • Experience in data modeling and database schemas.
  • Proficiency in SQL and database management.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Ability to develop visualizations utilizing Tableau or Power BI a plus.
  • Experience with ERP systems a plus.
  • Experience in Manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
