Lead - Warehouse 1st Shift

General Job Description

The Team Leader is responsible for the safety, quality, and productivity of all employees in their designated department. Additionally, the Team Leader ensures shipping schedules are met in accordance with company goals as directed by Supervisor/Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and package products for shipment according to customer requirements
  • Utilize warehouse management system to track inventory and manage orders
  • Operate forklifts and other equipment to move products within the warehouse
  • Perform quality checks on outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy
  • Collaborate with the warehouse team to optimize shipping processes
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Lead warehouse team through mentoring and motivating team members, ensuring group and individual productivity,
  • Perform and/or assist with investigations related to safety, quality, and operational performance,
  • Enable effective communication between the warehouse team and management.
  • Observe safety and security procedures. Maintain a safe, clean work area and report any potentially unsafe conditions. Use equipment and materials properly and train others ensuring they work safely,
  • Ensure that all staff follow good manufacturing processes and safety practices.
  • Ensure that staff follow standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure full adherence to 6S (Sort, Set In Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, Safe) practices at all times
  • Help to ensure warehouse targets are achieved, including monitoring staffing, waste, and productivity.
  • Be accountable for the general operation and efficiencies of warehouse operations.
  • Follow and direct company regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in shipping or related field preferred
  • Ability to safely lift heavy objects (up to 55 pounds) and perform physical tasks throughout the day
  • Proficiency in operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling shipments
  • Knowledge of company products and processes
  • Demonstrate ability to lead others.
  • Ability to set priorities, plan work activities and to organize and schedule employees’ work and tasks.
  • Ability to work with concentrated visual attention to analyze potential errors and problems.
  • Ability to use computer including Microsoft Office Suite to perform day-to-day work.
  • Ability to train all personnel on the production floor.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent required
